About Us

Our Mission: Young Japanese Breast Cancer Network (BCnetwork®) is the non-profit organization which wants to erase barriers and ensure access to essential, culturally- and linguistically-appropriate breast cancer education, treatment information, outreach and support for Japanese-speaking women in the US and world wide.

Goal: Our goal is to respect each patient’s and survivor’s social situation and to help them to complete their treatment successfully and live a healthy long-life after breast cancer.

Background: The peak age of breast cancer incidence amongst Japanese women is late 40‘s to early 50‘s compared to late 50‘s for Americans. While going through breast cancer treatment, Japanese-women living in the United States and elsewhere outside Japan often face cultural and language challenges, differences in the health care system, and future fertility issues after cancer treatments.

BCnetwork programs have been developed with the assistance of medical professionals specializing in breast cancer, offering relevant information to support women diagnosed with or at risk of breast cancer.

Providing monthly E-magazine in Japanese on the information about breast cancer treatments and interviews with breast cancer specialists both in US and Japan.
